This TRA001 was to replace my first TRA001 which I had some problems with, but I would not hesitate to buy another TRA001. It serves my purpose 100%. Having said all that I might be able to fix my old TRA001 with new parts that arrived today. 5 Triton routers are the very best that I have used.

The Triton MOF001 is a multiple award-winning plunge router with simple, intuitive adjustments and the unique capability to perform those adjustments from above the table when table-mounted. Think of it like a router with a lift built in—once mounted, just insert the winder wrench through the top of the table for precise adjustments. To change bits, just wind it all the way up.
The bit extends well above the table and even automatically locks out the collet at the end of its travel. A single wrench is all you need to loosen the collet. This same ease of use extends to handheld operation. In free plunge mode, you can quickly plunge to rough depth. Rotate the handle for finer adjustments, then rotate the microadjuster for very fine adjustments.
A 3-stage turret lets you immediately access commonly used depth settings. With its compact and powerful 2-1/4 HP motor and 8000-21,000 RPM variable speed with electronic speed maintenance under load, the Triton MOF001 is up to most any routing task. My router table could be really useful but I was frustrated when changing bits, major pain adjusting from under table and trying to get a wrench around the bit holder, plus lots of dust. Rather than spending a couple hundred on a lift and still having the wrench hassle I got this beauty. Bit of a learning curve to figure out how to set it up in my small Bosch router cabinet,(open table system would be much better) needed to drill new holes in the table for the router screws and get used to the button system in the handle to engage the lift. The on/off switch is a genius safety factor when changing bits!
Once it was set up works great, got a 1' flexible tubing for the vac system, no dust! Worth every penny and set up time!
I bought this router to be primarily undermounted in a portable scissor-legged Rockler router table. Using the router base as a template, I easily drilled the table insert to accommodate the bolt pattern. I love this router for its design eliminating the need for a lift. Major adjustments are easy to make underneath the open Rockler table and fine adjustments can be made from the table top with included crank that connects through a port to the fine-adjustment screw. I have both fence and router vacuum attachments to that keep cleanup to a minimum.
Buying the Triton on sale made this and exception value especially considering the design eliminates the need for a lift. I had been looking at several different brands I have seen in the past then I came across the Triton. I compared to others and just had to go with this one for the safety features and options that came included for the price.
It has covered power switch that locks when base is fully compressed to prevent accidental start when installing and working on bits. When base compressed and locked, it auto locks the shaft for one handed tightening and loosening of bits. I has clear safety shield on either side of bit area.
There is a port for vacuum attachment. It includes the collet wrench with a 1/2 and 1/4 inch collets. An extended fence with straight and circle attachments.
A height adjustment rod for use on table mounting. And the best part is the price which is the best for all this included stuff. It is well balanced, decent weight and is dual mode, plunge or fixed. Has free plunge or fixed coarse adjustment on one knob and a fine adjustment for fine tuning. Speed control for adjusting to different bit types. Everything you could want and no bad points.
I am looking at one of the new Triton Work Centers with router table module for future purchase for table mounting. You won't be sorry. And buy it from ROCKLER! Great service and quick delivery. A pleasure to do business with. This is a very well thought out router and it’s clear that Triton did their research. Dust collection is much better than most and controls are easily within reach and work very well.
Depth adjustment is remarkable and the on/off switch is very safe. There is almost nothing wrong except that the guide bushings could be a bit more reasonably priced. The fence/circle guide that comes with this router is incredibly simple and effective and it’s design is second to none. This is a great tool and definitely a must have for any serious woodworker. I have had this router now for over three years.
It has been mounted under a table for most of that time. It worked great up until about three months ago and the varible speed switch went out. Now another electrical component is going out and starting to slow down and smell. Service work is only done by one subcontractor on the west coast and the Triton rep is on the east coast. Cost of repair and shipping make it a throw away router. DON'T MISUNDERSTAND ME, THE ROUTER WORKED VERY GOOD FOR THREE YEARS. I JUST BELIEVE THAT FOR A WEEKEND HOBBYIST IT SHOULD LAST LONGER.
Triton routers are one of the best for mounting under a router table. The large 3.25 hp is enough power to run a 3 inch dia panel it in hard woods like hickory with ease and does it leaving a even smooth cut in the panel. One added feature that makes it excellent choice for a router table is the above the top adjust-ability that allows you to raise and or lower the router bit with ease. Also of importance is the router top being enclosed so that dust and chips do not fall into the motor. I had the mv12 hatichi 3.25 router mounted under the table and found that it was necessary to remove the router and blow out the dust and chips that fell into the motor housing.
Otherwise the router ran hot. There was also the inconvience of having to reach under the table to adjust the bit heights unless you went to the expense of having a router raiser. The triton has a smooth start feature that takes the sudden start jolt out of the table making it easy on the mountings in the table. The ability to change speeds is easily to do by a simple reach under the table and move the speed dial. It has a sound positive lock chuck as well as a positive chuck lock allowing a one wrench bit changing operation. By modifying the wrench you can change bits without chaning height adjustments.
This is an important feature if you are making muli bit cuts that requires bit changing such as in a door building project. The triton is my choice of routers now that I have used it as my power horse for a table mounted for better than a year. Although I do not have a Kreg table all the reports I have heard are from 'good to excellent' so having the Kreg quality you could not go wrong with purchasing a Kreg Table. Thanks for posting the link to the youtube.
It is interesting to watch.Reply by on February 9, 2013 at 3:17pm.
